Quote Of The Day – C.S. Lewis
Today’s QUOTE OF THE DAY comes from Clive Staples Lewis (C.S. Lewis) who was a British writer who wrote over 30 books, and is best known for The Chronic (what?) cles of Narnia. He also held academic positions in English literature at both Oxford University and Cambridge University.
It seems even more appropriate today as we continue to figure out how to live and thrive in this Coronavirus world, with lots of reinventing and pivoting going on.
Live-action film adaptations have been made of three of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005), Prince Caspian (2008) and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010).
He was also good friends with fellow novelist J. R. R. Tolkien (who wrote The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings). They both served on the English faculty at Oxford University.
In what has to be considered the most ultimate snub, Lewis was named on the last list of honours by King George VI in December 1951 as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) but declined to avoid association with any political party or issues. Burn.
